Home Builders Association Donates $10,000 to St. Vincent Home for Children
On behalf of the Home Builders Charitable Foundation (HBCF), HBCF President Jim Brennan of McKelvey Homes (left), 2015 HBA President Jeff Schindler of McBride & Son Companies (second from right) and HBCF contributor Kim Hibbs of Hibbs Homes (right) presented a $10,000 donation to Mike Garavalia, Director of development for St. Vincent Home for Children, and Carla Monroe-Posey, Executive Director for St. Vincent.
The donation will be used to help replace deteriorating roofs on several of St. Vincent’s buildings. St. Vincent Home for Children is an accredited child welfare agency that provides residential treatment, temporary shelter and respite care, and counseling for children ages 12-19, many of whom are victims of abuse and neglect. St. Vincent provides a continuum of quality mental health services including housing in comfortable living quarters where the children can feel safe and secure.
The HBA is a local trade association of more than 500 member firms representing the residential construction industry. The Home Builders Charitable Foundation, the HBA’s charitable arm, is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing housing assistance to people or organizations with special shelter needs.
