If you feel like you are running out of options, you are in the right place.
Parenting can be a challenge. Your child may be:
- Disrespectful to you and authority figures
- Experimenting with drugs
- Negatively influenced by peers
- Harming themselves
In our more than 170 years serving the community, we’ve seen it all at St. Vincent Home for Children. We’ve helped countless families like yours get back on track by providing love, safety, and therapeutic treatment. Every service we provide is at no cost to our families.

When you notice a negative change in your child’s behavior, attitude, or performance in school, it is a good time to arrange home-based counseling services to address the negative mental and behavioral health symptoms, and relationship issues that can often present in childhood. Our early intervention program for children ages 6 to 19 can help redirect your child when they start to get off track, give them tools to cope with their challenges, and prevent further disruption.
If you’ve reached a boiling point, it may be time to take a break. Our Emergency Shelter and Supportive Housing Program helps youth and families resolve issues so that the youth can return home and be successful. We provide intensive mental health services plus aftercare in a safe and secure environment for youth ages 10-19.
Children and young adults who are not successful at home and aren’t ready for independent living are welcome in our Transitional Living Program. It is a 90-day or longer program with six or more months of aftercare services based on need. The program is designed for youth ages 15 to 19 with a goal of building life skills so they can transition into a successful career trajectory and living independently.
We understand how important it is to have a safe place for you child to be after school until you get off work. The St. Vincent Drop In Center is open from 3:00 p.m. to 7 p.m. and offers free recreation activities, counseling, case management, music studio, game room and tutoring.
Additionally, if you know of a youth that does not have a safe place to live contact our street outreach department and we will come to them.
The situation is not going to get better on its own. Contact us today to share your concerns and learn how we can help your family at no cost to you.
