Youth Graduate and Receive Real-World Experience

Recently, some of our youth graduated from a finance class with Commerce Bank.  To celebrate, a team from Commerce Bank invited the youths to a luncheon where they were taught business dining etiquette.  Keith Jones, Executive Dining Manager, instructed them on proper table etiquette, how to set a table, where to wear a name tag, how to give a handshake, and the differences between European/Continental and American dining styles.  In addition, Terence Harris, Director of Corporate Retail Sales Management, gave a motivational presentation pointing out how your character and willingness to do the little things make a person stand out in any company.  He also assured the youth that “You belong here.” and “you can achieve greatness.”

Phillip Benoist, Commerce VP Retail Market Growth Strategy Leader, Crystal Avery-Morris, Commerce Community Development Officer, Joseph Hart, Commerce Bank Connect Location Manager, Byren Gandy, Commerce Bank Connect Sales Specialist, Latosha Fowlkes, SVHC Chief Executive Officer, Gloria Ratliff, SVHC Chief Development Officer, Randy Rosenburg, SVHC Programs Manager, and Edith Obasi-Okafor, SVHC Youth Education Specialist were also in attendance.

We are proud of the youth who completed this program and are thankful to everyone at Commerce Bank who provided educational and real-world experiences for them.
